Puppy TV

The TV is a Bush widescreen with built in freeview digital capacity (cutting edge when bought)

I am using:
  • Geforce Nvidia AGP with 64MB in built
  • Duron 1200 with 512MB ram
The important thing was the SVHS output from the card

By connecting to a PC
and running Puppy Linux I hope to have:
  • Internet Browsing in particular YouTube Web TV services
  • Email and the usual programs available with Puppy
  • DVD play back, CD player etc
  • Simple Menu (which I will program)

Side input makes connecting my Duron PC convenient

Puppy 2.16 Beta at 800 x 600

At first the highest viewable resolution was 600 x 400 and it was hazy and had rainbow colours.

1. Use Vesa in Puppy - select CRT for monitor type
2. Play with the picture settings - colour, contrast and sharpness made a huge difference

I then created a simple menu program for the screen. You can download and modify easily

The files should go in /usr/local/menu
with /usr/local/menu/files as the submenu . . .
