This reminds me of two stories one is a concept from Qabbalah in which the 'lightening bolt' that creates the universe,
also travels back from the result to generate the source.
The other is a piece of cloth.
The Tibetan Buddhist culture offers a scarf as a greeting gift.
I used to beg for such a piece of cloth but was always told to buy it.
I bought several and gave them away. This went on for several months.
The scarves were presented to Lamas and then washed and sold as income for the monastery.
One day there arrived some damaged, torn and clearly very old scarves, that were to be thrown away.
I could have one of these. I choose one of the oldest, to the disgust of the washers.
These had absorbed some of the blessing from many eminent Lamas and I was sensitive enough
to feel this warmth.
