Mark Ulrich (MU) was made a Senior Developer (Puppy Master) after much of his code appeared in Puppy.
Many software packages were compiled for Puppy.
Forum questions and suggestions were implemented at an astonishing rate.
Now read on.

Tell us about Muppy?
As Puppy is optimized for very old machines, the first impression might be a bit disappointing for users of modern computers.
Muppy tries to polish Puppy a bit by using some more resources, but still being very fast.

It also intends to offer some often requested programs like wine or Java "ready to use".

Apart from PuppyBasic what other languages have you explored?
Basic used since 1989, and since then in different flavours.
Commodore Basic V2, quickbasic, Visual Basic 4, wxBasic, PuppyBasic
My first programming steps on Linux were with Tcl/Tk, but I never found it easy to use.
So I switched to PHP and Perl when wxBasic was not available yet.
Especially Perl, still is my favourite for special tasks.
I also used PHP/Perl in my job to develop a customer care system for the call center of a German internet-provider.

Very late I found a good book and tutorial, that helped me to understand C, a language I hated for years. Meanwhile I really like it to create custom grafical tools (widgets) using the Gtk-bindings. Those tools then can be used from within shell scripts or other programming languages.
An example are the new wizards like PSI.
The grafical interface is a tool written in C.
The "logic", for example the installers themselves are made of bash-scripts and Puppybasic.

Apart from developing and gaming, what do you like to use Puppy for?
Everything. Surfing, multimedia, office.
It is my main system.
I only use XP to play some games not available for Linux, like currently Halflife 2.

Are your finances in a better state now?
Yes. The donations cover the costs for Puppy (Servers, Internet-access).
Big thanks to everybody supporting us.

I also got back some money from the state, which allows me to buy some small things I could not afford.
A router here, a game there, some new lamps.
It is just good when you walk around in a shopping-hall, and then to be able to buy something you like. Even if it is only something small, like those christmas-LEDs I got today.
Thanks to my mini job I also can afford a month-ticket for the subway.
It was really annoying in the last year, not to be able to travel inside Hamburg due to the high ticket-prices. Missed lying at Elbe-beach this summer.

What piece of code you created for Puppy, are you most pleased with?
The 3DControlCenter and PSI. Both use the same techniques.

Anything else you would like to say?
Yes, I use Puppy a bit more than a year now.
The forum has become a quite important part of my life.
As the forum means "the people there", I want to thank all of them for their important suggestions and feedback, their contributions and howtos (I learned a lot from them).
And also for many kind words and several postings full of humor, that often made me laugh and smile

Update:
Marks hair goes missing. He has now moved. Has a new job.
